My design approach focused on understanding the relationships between the pet owner, the caretaker, and family members. For the owner, this meant identifying the features they would want readily accessible—such as tracking their pet while at work, managing their pet’s daily schedule, and effortlessly connecting with the caretaker to ensure walking goals are met. On the other hand, caretakers or crèche owners might have their own custom schedules and routines that they expect the pets under their care to follow.

What was the problem?🤷🏽‍♀️

  1. Communication gaps between owners, caretakers, and family members.

  2. No real-time tracking, making pet safety hard to ensure.

  3. Irregular pet routines due to unsynced schedules.

  4. Lack of health visibility from daily pet activity.

  5. Unverified caretaker performance and task completion.

  6. Limited family involvement in pet monitoring.

What are we solving? 🧠

  • We've developed separate accessibility and control for the owner, family members and the caretaker.

  • The first version only caters tracking the pets' distance covered and notifying when the pets leave their geo fencing, specified by the owner.

  • The owner can track the pets' every step, as the caretaker would require to share a "task completion" photo for every task completed by the pet.

  • Provide the creche or the caretaker to provide their specific schedule for all the pets they cater all at once.

Problems Sustaining

A lengthy process of connecting the collar to the app, and with the specific pet's credentials.

The tech the development team had in this stage required to set up the collars, individually for each pet, by connecting it to the Bluetooth of the phone, later to the home WiFi, and then going to entry and exit points of the home to set up the GeoFencing points. This process makes the experience a bit frustrating and hard for elderlies to perform multiple times.

Onboarding Foms

The forms and login screens were created to onboard the owner and set-up the collar. The process includes putting down the credentials of your pet, and then connecting your app with the collar. Dashboard/ Progress Page

On these section of pages you get to track how much tasks your pets have completed in a day, and also how much the caretaker has accomplished. You can schedule the tasks and configure them freely (templates provided too). You can also get a preview of whether the pet is at home or on a walk, safe or out of geofencing. You can also break the schedule and take your pet for a walk by just clicking a toggle, without the geofencing alarms going off.

Map/Notifications

On this section of pages you can view the track your pets have been covering daily. You can set the boundary - by drawing a polygon - only within which your pet can go for a walk when with a caretaker. If taken outside this map, you would be sent an alarm after a certain time period has elapsed and the pet hasn't returned within the boundaries. You can also preview the update photos sent by the caretaker here.

Impact Created

A product that not only helps the owners with tracking their pets' fitness, but also streamlines the process of communication between the caretaker/creche owner and the pet parent.

An experience filled of humility, getting to know how much the pet parents actually care for their pets and their well-being. This product would also serve the K-9s serving under the CRPFs and army.
